How the Virginia Gubernatorial Elections could affect Americans education.

Virginians will head to the polls tomorrow, to decide whether or not to elect Republican businessman Glenn Younkin or to re-elect Former Governor, Democrat Terry McAuliffe. Here’s why that's important to all Americans' education.

Tomorrow, Virginians will vote for who they see fit, to handle the wide variety of imminent issues facing the Mother State. From the rising number of covid patients to the ongoing concern over the lack of job creation in Virginia, both candidates have pushed alternatives to stimulate the economy. Terry McAuliffe, the Democratic candidate for Govorner whose since been endorsed by President Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and the DNC board, has proposed raising the minimum wage to $15 an hour, a move, Republican Glenn Youngkin staunchly opposes. Younkin said in an interview with ABC News, that he opposes raising the minimum wage, for if “you impose a $15 minimum wage broadly across Virginia” Younkin says “we are going to lose jobs.” Instead, Younkin whose long-mentioned his successful business career prior to entering politics as a prime reason for being a job creator proposes keeping Virginia Open, rather than imposing further COVID restrictions, in addition to cutting Job-Killing Regulations by 25%, which he says would contribute over 400,000 Jobs & 10,000 Startups in Virginia. However, the central issue Virginians are focused on is education according to WFXR news in Virginia. This issue is indicative of an issue that faces American schools across the nation. Over the course of the last year, controversy over new policies enacted in counties across Virginia has outraged parents, prompting some to become violent. In late September and October of 2021, parents in Louden County, a northern region of Virginia, were outraged following the proposal of a bill that would in effect allow trans-children who either transitioned, or identify as the opposite, or a non-existing gender, may walk into any bathroom on Virginian school campuses. Parents in Louden County were outraged at the possibility of the contentious bill passing, attended City Council meetings, in which one outraged attendee at a school board meeting on June 22nd, Scott Smith, was arrested for disorderly conduct. It was later revealed by the DailyWire’s Investigative Reporting Head, Luke Rosiak that Smith, whose outburst at the meeting led to his arrest, and since viral moment, wasn't entirely irrational as previously reported by the mainstream media. Rather, the DailyWire reports that Scott's child was allegedly raped and assaulted in the bathroom of a Louden County Public School, by a boy who identified as a girl in order to get himself in the bathroom. The case of Scott Smith gained national attention because while these policies have not been enacted in states and counties across the nation, it's likely that similar rules may be authorized in the future under radical democratic politicians, one of which, is Terry McAuliffe. McAuliffe declined to comment on the situation regarding Scott Smith's arrest or if parents should have school choice in Virginia, instead, he pointed to the reporter asking the question and blasting him for not wearing a mask. But, it is well known that McAuliffe is a symbol for what the future of the Democratic Party looks like, in fact, McAuliffe is actually part of the executive board at the DNC. Consequently, if Terry McAuliffe is unconfident in the prospect of parents gaining school choice for their children, and blocking bills that allow for trans-youth to harass and abuse fellow students, why is it so improbable that fellow democratic leaders, and figures who've endorsed him, support ideas of more restricted education, critical race theory, and abuse from the trans-youth community? For, is this the future of the Democratic Party, and could tomorrow's gubernatorial elections in Virginia affect American education at large?
